THE United Ulama Council of South Africa (UUCSA) has launched a national Community Listening Survey to better understand the lived realities of Muslims across the country.

The research aims to generate credible, anonymised data that reflects the experiences and needs of the South African Muslim community. It will serve as a baseline study to guide evidence-based advocacy and inform decision-making at local, provincial and national levels.
According to UUCSA, the survey will provide insights into the community’s social, economic and spiritual wellbeing — segmented by age, gender, region and income group — to help strengthen the capacity of Muslim leadership, institutions and civic organisations.
The findings will be used to identify community priorities, inform UUCSA’s national programmes, and support collaboration among Muslim organisations working for positive change.
UUCSA has urged Muslims from all sectors of society to participate in the survey to ensure a representative picture of the community’s challenges and aspirations.
