THE Israeli occupation forces shot dead 26-year-old Palestinian journalist, Ibrahim Muharib, on Sunday August 18 near Hamad City in Khan Younis.
Muharib was killed, and another Palestinian journalist, Salma Qadoumi was injured, when soldiers from the occupation forces opened fire on a group journalists who were covering the Israeli aggression in Khan Younis.
And early this morning – August 20 – barely two days later, Israeli forces killed Hamza Murtaja while he was taking shelter in the Mustafa Hafiz school west of Gaza City.
Hamza’s brother, Yasser Murtaja, was shot and killed by Israeli snipers in the Great March of Return on April 6, 2018.
Murtaja was covering an Israeli air strike on the school-turned-shelter. A civil defence spokesperson, Mahmud Bassal, confirmed that at least 12 people were killed in this latest Israeli massacre.
In its wider genocide being carried out in Gaza, Israel has targeted Palestinian journalists to silence the major source of reports covering the Zionist entity’s war crimes. Thus far, over 150 Palestinian journalists have been killed since October 7, 2023.
