Pamela Olwethu Tsitsa is a bright and determined young woman whose education is at risk due to financial constraints. She passed matric and first year at the University of Cape Town with good results. She needs funds so that she can enrol for second year.
Pamela, originally from Centane, a rural area in the Eastern Cape, successfully passed her first year at the University of Cape Town (UCT), where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities. She aspires to complete her undergraduate degree and subsequently enrol in an LLB programme, with the ultimate goal of becoming a judge. Her passion for justice and her commitment to academic excellence are evident in her dedication to her studies.

Unfortunately, Pamela’s education is now in jeopardy due to financial difficulties. She owes UCT R177 000 in outstanding fees and residence costs, which has resulted in her being unable to register for her second year. Her mother, a single parent with multiple financial responsibilities, is employed on a one-year contract but does not qualify for NSFAS due to being classified within the middle-class income bracket. Despite this classification, their financial reality is far from stable, and affording Pamela’s tuition and university-related costs has become an insurmountable challenge.
The tragic loss of her father in 2010 has further compounded their financial hardships, as he was employed as a contract worker and left no financial security for the family. Pamela and her mother have exhausted all possible avenues for funding, and without immediate financial support, her dream of becoming a legal professional will be shattered.
Pamela is a promising young student with the potential to make a significant impact in the legal profession and broader society. Investing in her education means investing in a future leader who will contribute meaningfully to justice and social equity. We humbly request any form of financial assistance – whether a full scholarship, partial funding, or a donation – that will allow Pamela to continue her studies without interruption.
