On September 7 the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), in collaboration with the Castle of Good Hope, planted several olive trees at various points of the Castle in support of the Palestinian people.
The guest speaker, the Reverend Dr Alan Boesak, called on young people, in particular, to come to the Castle and water these olive trees. This was not just to ensure that the trees take root, but it would encourage them and their peers to do good and fight injustices within their local communities, their country and globally.
Quoting former president Nelson Mandela’s famous words – ‘South Africa will never be free until Palestine is free’ – he pointed out that it was an obligation on all South Africans to work towards the liberation of Palestine.
