The Touwsriver Islamic Society are appealing for assistance or donations towards the completion of the Masjid in Touwsriver.
FEROZ SHAIK
The Touwsriver Islamic Society is calling on the broader community to assist in the completion of the Touwsriver Masjid, which remains unfinished due to a shortage of funds. This mosque, currently under construction in Touwsriver, is an important centre for worship and the promotion of Islam in the Boland region.
Construction of the Masjid began with great hope and enthusiasm, but due to limited financial resources, the project has come to a standstill at a crucial phase. To bring the construction to completion, funds are urgently required for the following:
- First Floor Slab: R115,000 (quotation available upon request)
- Roof: R98,000
- Cement: R30,000
- Stone/Sand: R18,000
- Clay Bricks for First Floor: R25,000
- Labour (per week): R20,000
Any form of donation, big or small, will make a meaningful difference in moving the project forward and helping to realise the dream of establishing a fully functional Masjid.
The completion of the Touwsriver Masjid is an important step in our ongoing efforts to promote Islam in the region. With the grace of Allah (SWT), the Touwsriver Islamic Society have already established a Masjid in Laingsburg, and this second Masjid will serve as a spiritual home for the Muslim community in Touwsriver and beyond.
