THE Cape Town Ulama Board and Cape Town Islamic Educational Centre bid farewell to the Cape Town hujjaj as they embarked on their journey to perform Hajj.
The event, held at the CTIEC Ebraheem Kareem Hall in Eagle Park on Sunday April 27, was filled with prayers, recitations and emotional farewells.
Moulana Sayed Imraan Ziyaee, the Principal of CTIEC, led the gathering in special prayers for the safety and well-being of all the pilgrims. He urged the community to make dua for those who were not able to go on Hajj this year, and to pray for their own chance to make the sacred journey in the future.
Each pilgrim was given a Hajj travel pack containing essential items such as medication and travel necessities. The organisers ensured that the pilgrims were well-prepared for their journey both physically and spiritually.

As the evening progressed, the atmosphere was filled with a mix of excitement and sadness. Friends and family members gathered to bid their loved ones farewell, knowing that they were embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime journey of faith and devotion.
The South African Hajj and Umrah Council (SAHUC) reported that the first group of South African pilgrims had departed from OR Tambo International Airport early Monday morning, April 28. As they set off on their sacred pilgrimage, the community came together to offer prayers and well-wishes for their safe travels and successful completion of Hajj.
