Muslim Views is a member of the Press Council (https://presscouncil.org.za/) of South Africa and abides by the Press Code (https://presscouncil.org.za/ContentPage?code=PRESSCODE) of the council. The code covers the basic policies and standards on media-generated as well as user-generated content and activities.

This includes standards on the gathering and reporting of news, independence and conflicts of interest, privacy, dignity and reputation, protection of personal information, discrimination and hate speech, advocacy, protected comment, children, violence, graphic content, headlines, captions, posters, pictures and video/audio content, confidential and anonymous sources and payment for information.

However, Muslim Views adopts a further standard that is consistent with our mission as a faith-based media company.

Whilst these policies and standards are intended to guide our publishing and journalism, we note that they are part of a dynamic social and political environment, and a dynamic information and communications industry environment. Therefore they should be viewed as policies and standards that remain subject to ongoing change and updates.

With respect to our online content we draw the attention of our audience specifically to the following:

  • The views expressed in Muslim Views do not necessarily reflect the views of the company, the editor, staff, board members or shareholders of Muslim Views or its holding company.
  • Products and services advertised by Muslim Views are not endorsed by Muslim Views.
  • Products and services that are part of partnerships or promotions undertaken by Muslim Views and advertisers, or other parties, will be covered by applicable policies and disclaimers.
