Cape Town is at the heart of an extraordinary series of events honouring the life, mission and timeless values of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as part of the commemoration of 1500 Years of Prophet Muhammad’s ﷺ Legacy.

Spanning educational, spiritual, cultural and community-focused activities, the programme seeks to inspire, unite and uplift people from all walks of life and to spread its message far and wide, especially into our townships and underserved communities.
The line-up of activities include:
- High School Speech Contest – Showcasing young voices articulating the Prophet’s values and teachings.
- University Essay Challenge – Encouraging critical thought on the Prophetic legacy in today’s world. This event is open to tertiary, postgraduate and undergraduate students.
- Spiritual and Empowerment Youth Programmes – Equipping youth with leadership skills rooted in faith.
- Night of Sacred Sounds – This is a spectacular theatrical tribute of scared sound and salawaat, a multi-dimensional live as well as audio/visual stage presentation, portraying the essential aspect of the life and legacy of the Prophet ﷺ. The presentation is to be a continuous flow of:
– Narrative
– Written word
– Spoken word
– Poetry
– Qiraat and
– Holograms etc… of the Prophet’s ﷺ life. - Exhibition of Prophetic Relics – A landmark exhibition of the Prophet’s relics and models of sacred sites brings the seerah to life, displaying a rich tapestry of faith and culture.
- Community Walk – A Family Big Walk to be organised next year and to publicly share messages of peace, justice and compassion inspired by the Prophet ﷺ.
- Ladies’ Spiritual Programmes – Empowering women through knowledge and reflection on the Prophet’s mission.
- International Conference – Global scholars exploring the relevance of the Prophet’s message today.
- Academic Journal – Documenting research on Islam’s civilisational heritage and the Prophet’s transformative role.
- Seerah Seminars Nationwide – In-depth teachings on the Prophet’s life and lessons.
- ‘A New Dawn’ Programme – Supporting and celebrating new Muslims on their journey of faith.
- Quadrilingual Book – A work on the Prophet’s universal wisdom, available in four languages.
- Khatam al-Qur’an Programme – A complete khatam recitation entirely from memory by renowned quraa throughout the country. The Khatamul al-Qur’an event aims to highlight the timeless relevance of the Qur’an, honouring its message and those who preserved it through the generations.
- 1500km Legacy Cycle Ride – Cycling through and engaging communities across the towns as we create awareness through the Prophetic legacy.
- 1.5 Million Salawaat – A worldwide effort to send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ on this occasion.
The organisers are calling on all residents, institutions, masjids and community groups to actively participate, volunteer and share these events, as and when they happen, with everyone especially those in the townships where the message of the Prophet’s compassion, justice and mercy can bring hope and transformation.
