AWQAF SA, in association with the Department of Education, K-Way Institute and ISkill, will be hosting their second online Maths workshops for 2023 to prepare grades 10, 11 and 12 learners for their examinations.
The lively and inspirational Mohammed Khota from the K-Way Institute will be the facilitator and he will focus on pure maths, which includes trigonometry, algebra and basic calculus.
This event will be live streamed via Awqaf SA’s YouTube and Facebook platforms. The stream links will be made available upon successful registration.
Commenting on the upcoming workshop, Awqaf SA CEO Zeinoul Abedien Cajee said that the maths workshops have proven to be an overwhelming success since they went online during Covid-19.
‘Since our workshops began in 2016, thousands of learners have benefited. But with the workshops going hybrid in 2022, the number has multiplied dramatically with 13 000 learners registering, and by the end of the final weekend last year for grade 12s, over 35 000 YouTube views were recorded.
‘That is a fantastic response and shows that young South Africans are keen to learn,’ he said.
According to Awqaf SA project co-ordinator, Hasanain Abdullah, the online platform for the maths workshops has great advantages. Apart from allowing the expansion of the workshop footprint, it also enables the learners to review the classes in their own time.
He urged all learners nationwide to register. ‘Registration is completely free. Not only will the workshop boost their end-of-year marks but also equip them well for grades 10, 11 and the crunch year of grade 12.’
The workshops will be conducted over two weekends; the first weekend is dedicated to grade 12 learners and following weekend is split between the grade 10 and grade 11 learners.
The detailed programme is:
